Gold is the metallic gold of the Quick Gen range – unlike the colour shades it carries no intensity scale, just metallic pigment. Over white it gives a bright, warm gold that darkens in the recesses by itself.

FAQ
How do I balance Gold with other metals on one model?
Keep the gold on small areas and ornaments and leave the armour in Dark Steel or Cold Steel. If both metals are bright, the model falls apart visually – gold should work as an accent.
Does Quick Gen need thinning?
No. It is formulated to go straight from the bottle. For a thinner film or a smoother transition use AK Quick Gen Medium 18 ml – water breaks the contrast effect and the paint starts pooling into stains.
Which primer should I use?
White gives the cleanest, most saturated result; bone or light grey mutes it. Quick Gen does not work over black – contrast paints need a light base so the difference between the raised area and the recess can show.
