Orange is a clean mid orange – what the word brings to mind. It is saturated enough to carry as a main colour and neutral enough to shade and highlight without drifting towards red or yellow.

How do I paint red hair?
Base with Orange, glaze brown into the recesses and draw the strands up with Sun Stone or Ice Yellow. Never paint hair in one colour – a strand needs both light and shade.
What do I shade orange with?
Shadow Orange or Blood Red. A brown works too but reads earthier – it depends whether the shadow should be warm and alive or muted.
How do I thin this paint?
With water or an Ionic thinner. The formula is self-hydrating, so it stays workable on the palette far longer than ordinary acrylics – a drop is enough for brush work, and roughly 1 : 1 for airbrush.
Is the finish really matt?
Yes, it dries matt with no shiny patches. If the figure is going on the gaming table, seal it with a matt varnish at the end.
