Pearl Grey is a near-white cool grey with a hint of violet in the undertone. It fills exactly the gap between white and a mid grey – you can shade white cloth with it without dirtying it, and it also works as the second-to-last highlight on steel.

Is Pearl Grey cool or neutral?
Cool, but only slightly. If you need a distinctly cold light grey, reach for Fog Grey with its blue cast instead.
Will it cover black?
Not in one coat. Light greys belong on an already lightened base – start with a mid grey and keep Pearl Grey for the highlights.
How do I thin this paint?
With water or an Ionic thinner. The formula is self-hydrating, so it stays workable on the palette far longer than ordinary acrylics – a drop is enough for brush work, and roughly 1 : 1 for airbrush.
Is the finish really matt?
Yes, it dries matt with no shiny patches. If the figure is going on the gaming table, seal it with a matt varnish at the end.
