FAQ
Why does yellow so often look washed out on a miniature?
Because yellow pigment has the weakest covering power of any colour. Quick Gen gets around it by relying on a white base – over grey primer Warm Yellow turns into a greenish sludge, over white it stays a clean yellow.
Does Quick Gen need thinning?
No. It is formulated to go straight from the bottle. For a thinner film or a smoother transition use AK Quick Gen Medium 18 ml – water breaks the contrast effect and the paint starts pooling into stains.
Which primer should I use?
White gives the cleanest, most saturated result; bone or light grey mutes it. Quick Gen does not work over black – contrast paints need a light base so the difference between the raised area and the recess can show.
