How do I attach moss to a vertical surface?
Apply glue or fixer to the spot first, press the foam on with a finger and brush off the excess. On a tree trunk, thinned white glue works better than fixer.
Can the foam be coloured?
Yes, with thinned acrylics or a wash. Moss is never a single colour – a darker wash in the recesses and a drybrush on top give it volume.
How do I clean my tools?
Dry foam simply brushes off. Rinse any brush used for glue in water right after use.
Does the shade vary between pots?
Yes, the maker says so explicitly – it is coloured foam and the tone can vary slightly between batches. Buy enough in one go for a large scene.
