Frog Green is a mid olive yellow-green – a green that reads organic and damp. It is a good colour for amphibian and lizard skin, and serves equally well as a mid tone on uniforms and foliage where the green should be warm.

Frequently asked questions

How do I paint damp skin?
The colour is only half the job – the other half is the shine. Paint the skin matt and finish with gloss varnish on the raised areas only. Wetness lives in the reflection, not in the hue.

What do I shade it with?
Dragon Green or Brown Green. A brown-green shade keeps the organic character; a clean green would read cold.

How do I thin this paint?
With water or an Ionic thinner. The formula is self-hydrating, so it stays workable on the palette far longer than ordinary acrylics – a drop is enough for brush work, and roughly 1 : 1 for airbrush.

Is the finish really matt?
Yes, it dries matt with no shiny patches. If the figure is going on the gaming table, seal it with a matt varnish at the end.
