Jade Green from the Ionic Smart Colors range – a saturated jade green for cloth, stones and scales. Matt 20 ml acrylic.

Jade Green is a saturated green with a blue core – the colour of jade and deep jungle. It is calmer than Magic Green but still saturated enough to carry as a main colour. On a figure it reads rich and slightly exotic.

What it is good for on miniatures

Build shadows with Scaly Green and Seawater, transitions and highlights with Magic Green and Light Blue.

Frequently asked questions

How does it differ from Emerald Green?
Jade Green is bluer and cooler, Emerald Green greener and warmer. Use Jade Green for jade and Emerald Green for emerald.

What do I shade it with?
Scaly Green or Dark Sea Blue. A brown shade would dirty it and it would lose its cool jade character.

How do I thin this paint?
With water or an Ionic thinner. The formula is self-hydrating, so it stays workable on the palette far longer than ordinary acrylics – a drop is enough for brush work, and roughly 1 : 1 for airbrush.

Is the finish really matt?
Yes, it dries matt with no shiny patches. If the figure is going on the gaming table, seal it with a matt varnish at the end.
