What you will find here

3rd Generation – the main acrylic line in the Standard, Intense, Color Punch, Pastel, Metallic and Ink ranges, together with paint sets, acrylic washes and The Inks.
Quick Gen Color and Quick Markers – contrast paints that give you base, shade and highlight in a single coat. The markers are the same paint in a brush-tip pen.
Deep Shades – shading paints for painting armies fast in three steps: base, deep shade, highlight.
Real Colors – lacquer-based paints matched to RAL, FS and BS standards for vehicle and aircraft modellers.
Primers, thinners and cleaners and varnishes and glues.

Finding your way around

For miniatures and busts, 3rd Generation is the core: Standard for most areas, Intense where you need strong coverage and clean colour, Metallic for metal. A wargamer who wants an army on the table quickly starts with Quick Gen or Deep Shades. A vehicle modeller picks Real Colors, which match period standards. The difference between contrast paints and classic layering is explained in AK Quick Gen: how contrast paints work.

Primer, paint, varnish

Acrylic will not hold on smooth plastic, resin or metal without primer – it peels off at the first firm touch or when masking. So the order is always the same: primer, paints and finally varnish, which evens out the sheen and protects the paint during play.
