Rage Resin Models is the range with which AK Interactive entered the world of fantasy figures for wargames. It is built on the sculpts of Raul Garcia Latorre and his brand Enigma – his classic figures, now cast in resin by master Verdier. Celberum, Dark Rune is a 35 mm figure from that range. Painting at this size is a different job from a bust: smooth transitions disappear at arm's length anyway, so contrast is what carries the result. A dark base, one or two light tones and clean edges do more than five intermediate steps nobody will see at 35 mm.

Resin needs a primer – paint will not hold without one. Painting is done with AK 3rd Generation acrylics or Ionic Smart Colors, and brushes are in the da Vinci category. The base is finished with AK textures and vegetation.
How many shades does a 35 mm figure need?
Three per area is usually enough: base, shadow and highlight. Further intermediate steps are lost at this size and cost a great deal of time.
Do contrast paints suit it?
Very much so. On a 35 mm figure a contrast paint does most of the work in a single coat, leaving only a few highlights to add.
Does it come painted?
No, it is supplied unpainted and without a base.
