Blood Red is a saturated clean red with neither an orange nor a violet shift. It is the workhorse red of the range – the one you reach for when you need red and have no special requirement. The pigment is dense, so it covers better than most acrylic reds.

Build shadows with Dark Red and Wine Red, transitions and highlights with Devil Red and Light Red.
How many coats over black primer?
Two to three thin ones. If saturation matters, base with a dark brown or Devil Red first – red over black always loses luminosity.
What do I shade red with?
Dark Red or Scab Red. Do not add black – red with black looks like dried dirt rather than shadow.
How do I thin this paint?
With water or an Ionic thinner. The formula is self-hydrating, so it stays workable on the palette far longer than ordinary acrylics – a drop is enough for brush work, and roughly 1 : 1 for airbrush.
Is the finish really matt?
Yes, it dries matt with no shiny patches. If the figure is going on the gaming table, seal it with a matt varnish at the end.
