FAQ
Why does Lavender lose its colour over a dark primer?
Contrast paints are translucent – what you see is always the paint plus the surface underneath. Lavender is a light shade with little pigment, so over grey or black primer only a grey cast remains. It needs a white base.
Does Quick Gen need thinning?
No. It is formulated to go straight from the bottle. For a thinner film or a smoother transition use AK Quick Gen Medium 18 ml – water breaks the contrast effect and the paint starts pooling into stains.
Which primer should I use?
White gives the cleanest, most saturated result; bone or light grey mutes it. Quick Gen does not work over black – contrast paints need a light base so the difference between the raised area and the recess can show.
