FAQ
Why have four blacks in one range?
Because each does something different: Black is the surface, Soft Black the gentle one, Blue Black the cold one and Night Black the absolute depth. With contrast paints the result is decided by how much light a layer lets through.
Does Quick Gen need thinning?
No. It is formulated to go straight from the bottle. For a thinner film or a smoother transition use AK Quick Gen Medium 18 ml – water breaks the contrast effect and the paint starts pooling into stains.
Which primer should I use?
White gives the cleanest, most saturated result; bone or light grey mutes it. Quick Gen does not work over black – contrast paints need a light base so the difference between the raised area and the recess can show.
