FAQ
Can I use it instead of black for outlining?
Yes, and it usually looks better. Black in a corner reads as a hole; Strong Grey darkens while still showing the form – on a 28 mm model that reads more clearly.
Does Quick Gen need thinning?
No. It is formulated to go straight from the bottle. For a thinner film or a smoother transition use AK Quick Gen Medium 18 ml – water breaks the contrast effect and the paint starts pooling into stains.
Which primer should I use?
White gives the cleanest, most saturated result; bone or light grey mutes it. Quick Gen does not work over black – contrast paints need a light base so the difference between the raised area and the recess can show.
