Verdigris is a pale verdigris green – exactly the colour that builds up over years on copper roofs and bronze statues. It is a ready-made patina colour: nothing to mix, just apply it irregularly and let the bare metal show through.

Frequently asked questions
How do I get patina that looks old rather than sprayed on?
The key is irregularity. Stipple Verdigris on with an old splayed brush in uneven patches, concentrate it in recesses and let the metal show on the edges people would touch.
Can I use it over a whole statue?
You can, but it will look flat. Patina is never even – the bronze has to show through.
How do I thin this paint?
With water or an Ionic thinner. The formula is self-hydrating, so it stays workable on the palette far longer than ordinary acrylics – a drop is enough for brush work, and roughly 1 : 1 for airbrush.
Is the finish really matt?
Yes, it dries matt with no shiny patches. If the figure is going on the gaming table, seal it with a matt varnish at the end.
