Superhero Red is the purest, most saturated red in the range – a crimson leaning towards the blue side of the spectrum. It is exactly the tone of comic-book costumes and modern logos. On historical figures it reads too new; on fantasy and sci-fi it is exactly right.

What to combine it with

Frequently asked questions

What do I shade it with so it keeps its saturation?
Dark Magenta or Wine Red. Brown and black do not belong here – a crimson with brown goes brown at once and the effect is gone.

Why does it look different from Blood Red?
Superhero Red has a blue undertone, Blood Red is neutral. Side by side the difference is obvious: Superhero Red is cooler and brighter.

How do I thin this paint?
With water or an Ionic thinner. The formula is self-hydrating, so it stays workable on the palette far longer than ordinary acrylics – a drop is enough for brush work, and roughly 1 : 1 for airbrush.

Is the finish really matt?
Yes, it dries matt with no shiny patches. If the figure is going on the gaming table, seal it with a matt varnish at the end.
