Rage Resin Models is the range with which AK Interactive entered the world of fantasy figures for wargames. It is built on the sculpts of Raul Garcia Latorre and his brand Enigma – his classic figures, now cast in resin by master Verdier. Airtis, Battle Gnome comes from the larger branch of the range – the classic figures at 54 mm. The difference from 35 mm is not only height: at 54 mm the transitions on a face and the texture of cloth are visible, so the figure both takes and demands finer painting. It is a scale that suits learning to shade, because the surfaces are large enough to work on and small enough that the job does not drag.

Resin needs a primer – paint will not hold without one. Painting is done with AK 3rd Generation acrylics or Ionic Smart Colors, and brushes are in the da Vinci category. The base is finished with AK textures and vegetation.
Does it come painted?
No. It is supplied as an unpainted resin casting without a base.
How does 54 mm compare with 35 mm to paint?
Slower and finer. At 54 mm the viewer can see whether a transition is smooth, so it pays to add the intermediate steps that would be lost at 35 mm.
Does resin need primer?
Yes, without exception. Acrylic holds poorly on bare resin and lifts with handling. Wash the casting, let it dry and then prime it.
