Fine, flat texture for beaches and shorelines. 250 ml, made for Normandy and Pacific scenes alike.

A beach is not a dune – sand at the waterline is packed, flat and damp. That is exactly what Beach Sand is for: a fine texture that stays level and does not build mounds. The maker aims it at Normandy and Pacific shorelines, scenes where the beach meets the water and the transition from wet to dry sand matters.

What it is good for

  • A beach under a landing craft or obstacles
  • The transition between sea and dry land
  • Flat sand around a figure in a coastal scene
  • A base for wet sheen and a wave running up the shore

What to combine it with

Build the sea from Water Gel Atlantic Blue or Water Gel Pacific Blue and the white of the running wave with Water Foam. Pick out the wet strip at the waterline with Terrains Wet Ground or a thin coat of Water Gel Transparent.

FAQ

How do I make wet sand at the waterline?
Lay a thin strip of wet texture or clear gel over the finished sand and go over it with gloss varnish. Keep the edge irregular – a wave never ends in a straight line.

Can footprints be pressed into it?
Yes, while the paste is wet. Boot prints and the drag mark of a boat are the details that give a beach its story.

How do I clean my tools?
Water, as long as the paste is still wet. Rinse the spatula and the old brush right after use – cured acrylic paste will not come off.

Can the paste be thinned?
Yes, with water or acrylic thinner if you need it to flow better. Thinning costs it some shape retention, so go easy.
