FAQ
How do I paint snow on a base?
Prime or paint the base white, then run Ice Blue into the hollows and the shaded sides of the drifts only. That blue cast in the white is what separates snow from a plain white surface in a photo.
Does Quick Gen need thinning?
No. It is formulated to go straight from the bottle. For a thinner film or a smoother transition use AK Quick Gen Medium 18 ml – water breaks the contrast effect and the paint starts pooling into stains.
Which primer should I use?
White gives the cleanest, most saturated result; bone or light grey mutes it. Quick Gen does not work over black – contrast paints need a light base so the difference between the raised area and the recess can show.
