How do I turn Jade Green into a convincing gem?
Lay it over white primer, let it dry, then add a single white dot on the lit side and a thin white line on the opposite edge. The depth comes for free, because the paint is darkest in the middle of the cut.
Does Quick Gen need thinning?
No. It is formulated to go straight from the bottle. For a thinner film or a smoother transition use AK Quick Gen Medium 18 ml – water breaks the contrast effect and the paint starts pooling into stains.
Which primer should I use?
White gives the cleanest, most saturated result; bone or light grey mutes it. Quick Gen does not work over black – contrast paints need a light base so the difference between the raised area and the recess can show.
