Tombstone Yellow is a muted khaki yellow with a grey cast – the colour of an old gravestone and dried bone. It is a calm earth tone that never dominates a figure, but it holds every beige and bone ladder together.

How do I paint an old gravestone?
Base with Tombstone Yellow, brown glaze in the cracks, Old Bone dry-brushed along the edges and a few green lichen patches at the end. Stone without lichen looks new.
Is it a yellow or a brown?
A yellow with a strong grey-brown cast. Next to a clean yellow it looks dirty, which is exactly what you want on aged surfaces.
How do I thin this paint?
With water or an Ionic thinner. The formula is self-hydrating, so it stays workable on the palette far longer than ordinary acrylics – a drop is enough for brush work, and roughly 1 : 1 for airbrush.
Is the finish really matt?
Yes, it dries matt with no shiny patches. If the figure is going on the gaming table, seal it with a matt varnish at the end.
