What it is good for
- A boggy base under a fantasy figure or an undead
- An overgrown ditch and standing water in a village scene
- A puddle in a crater or in a vehicle track rut
- A greenish film on rocks and at the foot of trees
What to combine it with
Lay a ground texture first – Terrains Muddy Ground or Plague Ground work well – and only then the gel. Add moss and algae with Moss Texture and glossy pools on top with Puddles. For clear, transparent water use Water Gel Transparent instead.
FAQ
How do I get a scummy surface film?
Press a little moss or fine static grass into the still-wet gel and let it break the surface. Once dry, add matt varnish only in places – it breaks up the uniform sheen.
Is it dark enough in a thin layer?
In a thin layer it reads more like a green film. For an unmistakable bog, paint the base dark brown and apply the gel in two coats.
How do I clean my tools?
Water, as long as the gel is still wet. Rinse the spatula and the old brush right after use – cured acrylic gel will not come off.
Does it stick to resin and plastic?
Yes, it holds on resin, plastic, plaster and painted wood. The surface has to be clean and grease-free or the gel will lift at the edges.
